Special train services to clear rush

Southern Railway is launching a special train between Shoranur and Thiruvananthapuram and another between Thiruvananthapuram and New Tinsukia to clear the extra rush of passengers.

Ahamed to flag off train

Union Minister of State for Railways E. Ahamed will flag off the Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur train at Ernakulam Junction on Sunday.

The Thiruvananthapuram-New Tinsukia train (No. 0529) will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 4.05 p.m. on Monday and reach Tinsukia at 11.30 p.m. on the fourth day, Thursday.

The Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur train will have stops at Wadakkancherry, Thrissur, Irinjalakuda, Chalakudy, Angamaly, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Piravam Road, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayamkulam, Karunagapally, Kollam, Paravur, Varkala, Chirayinkeezh and Thiruvananthapuram Pettah.

The train will have one A/C three tier, seven sleeper class and two general second class and two luggage-cum-second class compartments.

The Tinsukia train will have stops at Kollam, Kayamkulam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Chennai, Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Chirala, Tenali, Vizianagaram, Palasa, Berhampur, Balugaon, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jaipurkeonjhar, Bhadrak, Kharagpur, Asansol, Durgapur, Andal, Rampurhat, Malda Town, Kishanganj, New Jalpaiguri, Dhupguri, New Coochbehar, New Alipurduar, Kokrajhar, New Bongaigaon, Rangiya, Kamakhya, Guwahati, Hojat, Lumding, Diphu, Furkating and Mariani.

The train will have one A/C three tier, 10 sleeper class, two general second class and two luggage-cum-second class compartments, a Southern Railway release here on Saturday said.

Train rescheduled

Train No. 2512 Thiruvananthapuram-Gorakhpur Raptisagar Express scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram at 5.30 a.m. on Sunday has been rescheduled to leave at 7.30 a.m. owing to inordinate late running of the incoming train, a Southern Railway release here on Saturday said.
