Six persons, including three women, alleged to be part of a sex racket operating in Aruvikkara, were nabbed by the police on Sunday.

The accused were identified as Sreejith, 24, of Uriyakode; Manju, 25, of Peroorkada; Rahul, 24, of Kamaleshwaram; Sheeja, 37, of Chirakkulam near Vanchiyoor; Vijayakumar, 55, of Vellanad; and Priya, 31, of Parassala. All were produced in court and remanded in judicial custody. They were charged with Immoral Trafficking Act.

The racket was being operated by Rahul and his mother, Sheeba, who is absconding, the police said. She had been arrested previously on similar charges, they said.

The police also confiscated cash from the accused, along with five dual SIM mobile phones, following a raid at a rented house where the racket was allegedly functioning.
