School centenary fete concludes

Plan to develop students’ potentials

The Academic Master Plan is aimed at the comprehensive development of the potential in each child, Education Minister C. Ravindranath has said.

The Minister was inaugurating the valedictory of the centenary celebrations of the Government Upper Primary School at Manthuka, near Pandalam, on Saturday.

The government’s aim was to develop the hidden potential of every child with the help of a scientifically revised curriculum.

Kerala should become a place that offered the best scientifically structured education system in the whole world in the next two years, he said.

The Minister said making colleges free of drugs and alcohol was the need of the hour and the government would initiate effective measures in this regard.

Smart classroom

The Minister also inaugurated the smart classroom at the school on the occasion. He said the government would sanction the fund required for constructing a three-storey building for the school, once it received the detailed master plan for the same.

Veena George, MLA, presided. Benyamin, novelist; Reghuprasad, Assistant Education Officer; C.V. Bindu, headmistress; and Elsy Joseph, K.R. Jayachandran, Susan Thomas, and Viswakala, panchayat members, spoke.
