Salaries of government employees will be paid in advance in view of Onam and Id-ul-Fitr.

Finance Minister K.M. Mani said in an official release here on Thursday that salaries would be disbursed between August 25 and 27. Service pensions and family pensions would be paid on August 23 and 24.

The Minister added that the last date for submitting options for pay revision had been extended to May 25, 2012. The pay revision was notified on February 26 and six months was the time available for submission of options.

The release said that the Minister had ordered an inquiry into the complaint that N. Dinakar, who retired as chairman of the State Human Rights Commission, had been dishonoured by withholding his transfer grant and transport allowance.
