Rs.10 lakh for woman’s family

The government will provide an assistance of Rs.10 lakh to the family of the law student who was raped and killed at Perumbavoor last week and give employment to her sister.

A press note from the office of the Chief Minister said the Ernakulam Collector would coordinate the offers of support for construction of a house for the family.

In a separate press note, the Chief Minister’s office said Rs.3.75 lakh was sanctioned as special aid to the girl’s family in 2014-15 for buying land. The family used the amount to purchase five cents of land in Mudakkuzha. Another Rs.3 lakh was sanctioned as special aid for building a house. The family was paid the second instalment of Rs.1.2 lakh on construction of the foundation. The third instalment of Rs.1.2 lakh and the fourth instalment of Rs.45,000 would be sanctioned on completion of the work.
