Maintenance of 3,000 roads taken up recently at a cost of Rs.200 crore will be completed before December 15, Minister for Public Works G. Sudhakaran has said.
Addressing a review meeting of various civil works, including road maintenance taken up in all the Assembly segments, here on Wednesday, Mr. Sudhakaran said that unlike the previous government, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government had apportioned funds for all segments to take up pre-monsoon road maintenance works.
The same model would be adopted for Budgetary works too. During the past five years, the government had ignored Opposition MLAs.
While it provided Rs.373 crore to the United Democratic Front (UDF) MLAs, the LDF MLAs got only less than Rs.3 crore, Mr. Sudhakaran said.
He directed the officers to immediately provide the detailed project report of works taken up with the support of Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB).
