Students and teachers in schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) were taken by surprise on Monday evening when the official website of the board abruptly announced the results of the All India Secondary School Examination (class X examination).

School authorities in the city are miffed at the fact that they had to hear it from the media that the results had been released but the performance of their students, many of whom scored A1 in all subjects, came as a relief.

“I was checking since morning for some notification regarding the announcement. There was some mention that the class X and XII results would be released simultaneously and others said class XII results would be released initially. I was browsing the website at 5 p.m. when this new box appeared saying that the class X results have been announced,” she said.
