Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd. (KMML) registered a record turnover of Rs.490.51 crore during the nine-month period from April to December 2013, exceeding by far a turnover of Rs.359 crore registered during the same period the previous year.
The production of titanium pigment in the State public sector unit reached the level of 25,000 tonnes during the period. This too exceeded the production achieved during the corresponding period in the previous year, a government press release here on Sunday said. The press note said the company’s fortunes were looking up. The titanium sponge unit of the company, which started operation in October 2011, had so far produced 194 tonnes of the material, which commanded a price of nearly Rs.20 crore a tonne in the market now.
The KMML had received an order from the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre for supplying aerospace-grade metal for research purposes.
