Rangakalotsavam from Monday

Kathakali, Koodiyattom to be staged

Curtain will go up on Kerala Rangakalotsavam, organised by Drisyavedi in association with Samskrithi, Margi, and the Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi Koodiyattam centre, at Karthika Thirunal Theatre in Fort at 5.30 p.m. on July 17.

Linguist V.R. Prabodhachandran Nair will inaugurate the festival. C.G. Rajagopal will preside.

Kalamandalam Krishnadas, who won the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award, will be honoured at the function. This will be followed by Usha Chithralekha Kathakali. Margi Vijayakumar, Kalamandalam Jishnu Ravi, Kalamandalam Sudeep, and others will perform.

Award to be given

On July 18, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award winner Kottakkal Madhu will be presented with the V. Ramakrishna Pillai memorial Kalaratna Award at a function at Theerthapaadha Mandapam. Kerala Sangeetham performance led by Mr. Madhu will follow.

A Koodiyattom performance will be held at Karthika Thirunal Theatre on August 18.

A Chakyarkoothu performance by Margi Madhu on September 19 and Kalyana Sougandhikam Kathakali on October 30 will be held at the same venue.
