The Thiruvananthapuram rural police have registered a case and instituted a probe into incidents of vandalism of several houses in various parts of Chirayinkeezh.

According to the police, over 10 houses in Azhoor and Anathalavattom were vandalised in a series of incidents that is suspected to be linked to a long-running feud between two rival gangs in the area. Several parked vehicles were also targeted in the attacks.

It is believed that members of the gangs led by habitual offenders and goons Shibukumar and ‘Ottakam’ Rajesh were behind the attacks.

Three persons sustained injuries in the attacks and are undergoing treatment. There were also reports of country bombs being thrown at some places.
