President’s honour for VACB officers

Shaik Darvesh Saheb, ADGP, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB), Thiruvananthapuram, has been conferred President’s police medal for distinguished service, and Jacob Thomas, director, VACB, with the President’s police medal for meritorious service.

Eight other police officers have also been selected for President’s police medal for meritorious service.

They are: P.A. Varghese, Dy.SP, Perinthalmanna (on leave), T. Mohanan Nair, ACP, traffic, north sub-division Thiruvananthapuram City, Kurikesh Mathew, deputy commandant, Malappuram, V. Ajith, Dy.SP, SBCID, Kottayam, V.V. Thrivikraman Namboothiry, SI, SBCID, Kottayam, K.L. Anil, SCPO, SCRB, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, N. Jayachandran, Driver HC T 9073 (Grade ASI), Police Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram, R. Mahesh, Dy.SP, VACB, Thiruvananthapuram.

Governor’s greetings

Governor P. Sathasivam has greeted the people of Kerala and Malayalis all over the world on the occasion of the 70th Independence Day. “On this occasion, we also renew our commitment to uphold the highest standards of democratic tradition and to gratefully honour the sacrifice of many known and unsung patriots who laid down their lives in the historic struggle for our Independence,” the Governor said in message. Today, it is not just freedom that we celebrate, but the rare inner strength and unity of a people that enabled our country to emerge as the fastest developing nations in the world.”
