‘Tamaso Ma Jyothirgamaya,’ a health awareness programme for the inmates of the Central Prison, Poojappura, was launched on the jail campus here on Thursday. Kidney Foundation of India chairman Fr. Davis Chiramel inaugurated the programme jointly organised by the Alcohol and Drug Information Centre (ADIC) India and the Department of Prisons.

Inaugurating the programme, Fr. Chiramel said more than physical well being a healthy mind was man’s greatest asset. “Unless you have a healthy mind and positive attitude there will be no meaning for anything you achieve in life. Healthy thoughts, respect and love for fellow human beings are most essential for a healthy mind,” he said. A documentary titled Swasthi — Cancer and Survival, produced by the Regional Cancer Centre, was screened.
