Police patrol teams to inspect ATMs

: In the wake of the recent ATM robbery in the capital, the Highway Police Patrol and the Night Patrol teams across the State have been asked to inspect the ATMs in their jurisdiction.

State Police Chief Loknath Behera said the personnel in the patrol teams will inspect the ATMs installed by the banks between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. periodically.

The patrol teams have been asked to look whether suspicious gadgets and networks had been connected to the ATMs and whether the ATM’s had been damaged in the rear.

Mr. Behera has also asked the police patrol teams to monitor whether the guards posted in the ATMs by the banks are alert during night. The team personnel have been told to report lapses on the part of the guard to the banks concerned.

Directive

Zonal Additional Director General of Police, Range Inspector General of Police and the District Police Chiefs have been asked to file compliance report to the State Police Chief within a week.
