Plea for 45-metre width at Balaramapuram

July 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The Karamana-Kaliyikkavila National Highway Development Action Council has urged the government to develop the proposed over-bridge and under-passage at Balaramapuram Junction to a width of 45 metres.

The council raised the demand in view of the problems that could be created with the stretches being developed to 30.2-metres width as per the existing plan.

This will render impossible the future plans to construct a traffic roundabout at the junction. In addition, the busy Balaramapuram junction will be further congested as per the current plan when the Vizhinjam seaport project becomes operational.
