The Ambalappuzha Petta Thullal party began its journey for the Erumeli Petta Thullal and ‘Makara Jyothi darshanam' from the Sree Krishna temple at Ambalappuzha on Sunday.

The party, comprising over 300 pilgrims, had been following special rituals and offering prayers for the last 52 days. On Sunday too, the journey began after prayers, rituals, and ‘Nirmalyadarshanam' at the Ambalappuzha temple.

The group, led by ‘Samooha Periyon' Kalathil Chandrasekharan Nair, will be accorded receptions at over 70 temples before reaching the Manimalakkavu Devi temple. It will reach Erumeli on January 11. The Petta Thullal will be on January 12, after which the group will participate in the ‘Pampa Sadya' and ‘Pampa Vilakku'. The team will then proceed to the Sannidhanam for ‘darshanam'. The pilgrimage will wind up on January 16.
