Panchakarma ward inaugurated

A newly built pay-ward at the Panchakarma hospital at Poojappura here was inaugurated on Wednesday by Health Minister Adoor Prakash.

Service issues

In his inaugural address, Mr. Prakash said the government had initiated steps to address the service-related problems of Ayurveda doctors and personnel.

Measures had also been initiated to tackle problems on the infrastructure front, the Minister said.

The new pay-ward at thePanchakarma hospital has been built using Rs.10 crore sanctioned by the Central government.

Hospital to be set up

The State had also received from the Centre Rs.12 crore for setting up a Panchakarma hospital at Alappuzha, he said.

The inauguration of the general ward at the hospital was carried out by Minister for Transport and Devaswom V.S. Sivakumar.

Support promised

In his address, Mr. Sivakumar said the government would give all necessary support to transform the hospital into a nationally recognised centre for Panchakarma treatment.
