Kerala Government Collegiate Nursing Teachers' Association has condemned the attempts by vested interests to malign the Government Nursing College, an academic institution of the highest standards, and its teachers.
Referring to media reports about a complaint filed by a second year BSc Nursing student with the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate that she had been mentally harassed by a teacher, principal of the Government Nursing College and the Director of Medical Education over her caste name, the association said the charges were totally fabricated and it was a deliberate attempt to demoralise the teachers.
The student had missed her session exams and she had been asked to produce a leave letter and to explain the reason why she had missed the exams.
The student and her father had then met the principal of the Nursing College and then the DME, and at no point had they raised a complaint that the teacher had harassed her over her caste name.
