The Kerala Congress (M) is not opposed to Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala becoming the Deputy Chief Minister, Finance Minister K.M. Mani has said.

Addressing a seminar organised by the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club here on Wednesday, Mr. Mani said the party would not stake a claim for the Deputy Chief Minister’s post. The UDF would decide on K.B. Ganesh Kumar’s re-entry into the Cabinet. A final decision on such things would be made by the UDF and the Chief Minister.

Regarding UDF Chief Whip P.C. George’s comments on the Ganesh Kumar issue, Mr. Mani said that the former had the freedom to express his views in a democratic party set up, but a final decision on such issues would be made by the party chairman.
