No curbs on funds: Planning Board

May 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:54 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The State Planning Board has not imposed any restriction on sanctioning funds for Centrally sponsored projects for the current financial year, Vice Chairman of the board K.M. Chandrasekhar has said.

An official pressnote quoting him said a meeting of the Planning Board chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on May 12 had directed the Finance Department to allot funds for Centrally sponsored projects without waiting for the Union government’s share to be released.

It said the Centre and Niti Ayog had not yet issued guidelines on sanctioning funds or implementing Centrally sponsored projects. It refuted reports that the Planning Board had issued directions to curtail the allotment of funds for Centrally sponsored projects till July.
