No constitutional crisis, says Mani

March 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:34 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

Finance Minister K.M. Mani said here on Saturday that there was no constitutional crisis in the State. Speaking to the media during a visit to see Congress MLA M.A.Vahid who was injured in an attack on his house on Friday, he said the UDF government would get the budget passed.

“A constitutional crisis arises only if the budget is not passed in time. There is no question of this happening.”

Mr.Mani said Governor P.Sathasivam’s statement approving the Speaker’s stance on the presentation of the budget was a setback for the LDF and BJP. He welcomed the Governor’s call for stern action against those responsible for the violence in the Assembly.
