No classes in schools during vacation

The Directorate of Public Instruction has reiterated that no classes will be held during the summer vacation in any school under the General Education Department.

This follows a directive of the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights to the DPI to issue orders to ensure that no school functioned during the summer break.

Health issues

Education officers have been told to ensure that schools did not function against the backdrop of health problems caused by the heat, and that school authorities followed the directive. Any violation will invite departmental action, a release here said. In case of any improvement in climate, suitable instructions will be issued at the earliest, the release said.
