Nine fever deaths till Sunday

Nine persons died of fever and related illnesses in the State between May 29 and June 9.

Two suspected dengue deaths were reported from Kottayam, another two from Idukki and one from Kollam. One death reported from Idukki on May 29 was confirmed as due to dengue on Monday. Two persons died of pneumonia in Kozhikode. One death was reported from Kollam which is suspected to be due to Japanese Encephalitis.

Ninety-two confirmed cases of dengue, six cases of leptospirosis, all from Thiruvananthapuram, and five cases of malaria were reported on Monday.

Of the 92 dengue cases, 41 cases were from Thiruvananthapuram.
