National Eligibility Entrance Test

KSSP demands exams in regional languages

May 13, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

All entrance examinations, held either at the State level or at the national level, should be conducted in all recognised regional languages also, the Kerala Sastra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) has demanded.

A press note issued here on Thursday said the NEET for admission to MBBS and BDS courses, ordered by the Supreme Court, would be held in English and Hindi only. In different States in India teaching is done in regional languages. If tests are held only in English or Hindi it would adversely affect the chances of otherwise brilliant students who cannot express themselves in English or Hindi. This would mostly affect those who are socially and financially backward, the press note said.
