National awards for 14 teachers

The national awards for teachers for 2014 have been announced.

From Kerala, 14 primary and secondary school teachers have been selected for the awards.

In the primary section, Laisamma V. Kora, assistant teacher, CSI VHS School for the Deaf, Thiruvalla; V.S. Ashok, headmaster, Government Upper Primary School, Vamanapuram, Thiruvananthapuram; K.P. Manoj, physical training teacher, GM Upper Primary School, Kottakkal, Malappuram; B. Francis, physical training teacher, Government Upper Primary School, Chittoor, Edapallikotta, Kollam; Varghese P. Peter, headmaster, Government UPB School, Kumbanad, Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta; N.V. George, St. Joseph UP School, Kallodi, Edavaka, Wayanad; Kodakad Narayanan, headmaster, Government Upper Primary School, Kanhangad South, Kasaragod have been selected for the award.

In the secondary section, Niyaschola, assistant teacher (physical science), Markaz HSS, Karanthoor, Kozhikode; Babu T. John, headmaster, Deepa HS, Kuzhithol, Idukki; S. Sankaranarayanan Bhat, headmaster, Navajeevan HSS, Perdala, Kasaragod; K. Jayalakshmi, music teacher, Government GHSS, Ernakulam; E.V. Abdulla, zoology teacher, Perambra HSS, Kozhikode; M.V. Shaju, Malayalam teacher, Shantha HSS, Avanoor, Thrissur; and P.G. Sreekala, sociology teacher, RKD NSS, Sasthamangalam, Thiruvananthapuram will get the award.
