The team probing the Nanthancode multiple-murder case will take the sole accused, Cadell Jeansen Raja, to Chennai on Sunday as part of evidence collection.

The accused had allegedly fled to Chennai soon after the murders came to light and had stayed in odge. He, however, decided to move out after realising that the murder case had acquired sensational dimensions and on suspicion that the lodge had been placed under surveillance on the basis of a tip-off. Sleuths probing the case stumbled upon another alleged revelation that he had attempted to poison his family members a month ago. “However, he chose to dilute the poison that he had mixed in the food, after he claimed to have developed cold feet. While some of the family members had developed uneasiness, it was brushed aside as an instance of possible food poisoning,” an official said.
