Murder accused in police custody

Anilkumar and Chandrasekharan who were arrested on charge of murdering 45-year-old Maryadas in Koliyoor recently were transferred to police custody on Wednesday. The application submitted by the police seeking custody was approved by the Neyyattinkara Magistrate Court, which granted 12 days’ custody.

The police said the accused persons would be taken to Tirunelveli and Vellore during the period to collect evidence.

Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu police’s Q Branch is learnt to have sought the assistance of the City police for the investigation in certain murder cases in Tirunelveli in which the duo were accused to be involved. However, the police are yet to take a call on the issue.
