M.S. Rawther dead

Prominent trade union leader in the power sector and Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) State general secretary M.S. Rawther died at Kochi on Friday evening following a massive cardiac arrest.

Sixty-five-year-old Mr. Rawther, who had gone to Kochi from here to attend a trade union-related meeting, collapsed on the platform at Ernakulam shortly after alighting from the train and was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

His body was brought to the State capital late at night and will be buried at the Palayam Juma Masjid at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
