The children at the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare nursery had a special guest to offer them ‘Vishu kaineettom' on Thursday.

Education Minister M.A. Baby visited the children at the nursery in the morning to offer Vishu wishes and blessings.

The Minister was accompanied by his wife, Betty Louis Baby. At a programme organised by the Karma Socio-Cultural Organisation, Mr. Baby and his wife handed over gifts and sweets to the children.

The organisation gifted baby food, bed-sheets and soapsand other articles to the 55 residents of the child welfare council here.

Karma vice-president K. Mahadevan presided over the function.

Child Welfare Council general secretary P. Krishnan was present.

For the children of the paediatric ward of the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) here, it was a memorable Vishu with playback singer G. Venugopal in attendance.

The singer distributed gifts and sweets to the children in the ward and interacted with their parents in a programme organised by Sasneham, a Venugopal fans community in Orkut.
