Meet to discuss use of energy

As many as 500 delegates from India and eight other countries are expected to participate in the first session of the Global Energy Parliament to be held here from November 12 to 14 under the auspices of the Isa Viswa Prajnana Trust.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, secretary of the organising committee M.R. Thampan, director K.P. Krishnakumar, managing director of the National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation C.V. Ananda Bose and Professor Emeritus, Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala C.S.P. Iyer said the parliament was being established to propagate awareness about energy as the basis of the universe and promote scientific research.

He said the parliament would come up with an action plan to harness energy in a sustainable manner without harming the environment. The second session of the parliament is scheduled to be held in Berlin, Germany, next year.
