The Commissioner of Food Safety has directed all Food Business Operators (FBOs) running eateries, canteens, restaurants and hotels serving non-vegetarian food in the district to apply for a licence or registration as the case may be, before September 5.
These FBOs have to necessarily provide all details of the suppliers from whom they procure the raw materials – poultry meat and red meat — to the district food safety officer before September 5. The Commissioner made it clear that this requirement was applicable to all eateries serving non-vegetarian food, including five-star hotels.
The Commissioner has also directed those supplying meat and poultry meat to hotels and eateries, to give an application for registration to the district food safety officer along with proof that they have the necessary facilities – refrigerated and hygienic transportation service – for transporting raw materials, within 15 days.
