The city police on Thursday deported a Maldivian citizen who had been living in the city for educational purposes since June 2009.
They identified the foreign national as Abdul Aleem, 28. He was living with his family in a rented house at Manacaud.
The police stated that Abdul Aleem was an ‘unwelcome guest' because of his past political activities in his country. They also suspect that he had some liaison in the past with certain foreign radical groups working against the country's national interests.
