Malayalam-Tamil dictionary released

: A Malayalam-Tamil dictionary prepared by the Department of Tamil, University of Kerala, was released here on Tuesday by Governor P. Sathasivam.

According to information made available by the varsity, the Governor gave the first copy of the dictionary to litterateur Puthussery Ramachandran. The dictionary is a feather in the cap of the Tamil Department, the press note quoted the Governor as saying.

The Malayalam-Tamil dictionary which lists 20,000 words would prove useful to the next generation of scholars and to aficionados of Malayalam and Tamil, he added.

Vice Chancellor P.K. Radhakrishnan was among those present on the occasion.
