KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala on Wednesday dubbed the ongoing Opposition stir of blockading Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, disrupting his official functions and waving black flags in the name of the solar scam a primitive agitation method.

In a statement here, Mr. Chennithala defended the Chief Minister, who had taken prompt action when complaints regarding the solar deals came to be exposed.

He took stern action against his personal staff members when their alleged involvement came to be known.

In addition, the best investigating officers were entrusted with the investigation. The current agitation by the LDF and the BJP is intended only to reap political dividend by creating a misconception among the people about the Chief Minister.

But the agitations had crossed all accepted limits. He wanted the Opposition parties to give up the anti-democratic methods of agitation and extend support to the ongoing investigations into the scam.
