Success knocks at the doors of the Kerala State Civil Services Academy in the city yet again, as a total of 34 students of the State-run training institute have secured commendable ranks in this year’s civil services examinations, the results of which were declared on Friday.
Five in top 50
Five students of the academy come among the top 50 rankers and eight among the first 100 rankers. First rank holder Haritha V. Kumar, second rank holder Sri Ram Venkittaraman, and fourth rank holder Alby John Varghese were students of the academy.
Speaking to The Hindu on Friday, director of the academy U. Subhash said the methodical training imparted to the students was the key to the high success rate of the academy.
“The students who clear the preliminary examination are adopted by the academy and are given extensive training.
They undergo personality development and take mock interviews so that they score well in the actual interview sessions,” he said.
According to him, more students are interested in pursuing a career in civil services as many feel that this is an achievable dream unlike the previous years.
There is also a good number of students from the professional stream who are willing to undergo a year of rigorous training to achieve success in the civil services examinations, considered to be one of the toughest examinations in the country.
The academy will introduce additional training sessions in the coming year in accordance with the changed pattern of the examination and special sessions with experts from this field will be conducted like every year, said the director.
