Violin maestro L. Subramaniam and his wife vocalist Kavita Krishnamurthy will be in the city for the Lakshmi Narayana Music Festival to be organised by the State Bank of Travancore. The couple will perform here on December 26.
Romanian violinist Roby Lakatos, well-known for his mix of classical and jazz, and Jeno Lisztes will accompany Dr. Subramaniam, a release from the bank here said. Trained in the Carnatic music tradition and Western classical music, Dr. Subramaniam will present an orchestral fusion.
Ms. Krishnamurthy, a playback singer, and Ambi and Bindu, Dr. Subramaniam’s children and accomplished violinists, will accompany him. Mr. Lakatos had appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra in its ‘Genius of the violin’ festival a few years ago to great acclaim.
