Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, has been adjudged the best government day school in the country in the ‘Education World India School Rankings’ for the third consecutive year.
Other schools in the State also figure in the top 12 rankings in various categories.
In the ‘Government Day School’ category, Government Vocational Higher Secondary School for Girls, Nadakkavu, Kozhikode, is ranked third.
Ranks seven to nine have gone to Kendriya Vidyalayas — KV West Palakkad, is seventh, KV Puranattukkara, Thrissur, eighth, and KV, Keltron Nagar, Kannur, is in ninth position.
Three JNVs in top 10
Three Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) have found a place in the top 10 ‘Government Boarding Schools’ category. These include JNV, Chendayad, Kannur, ranked three; JNV, Chennithala, Alppuzha, ranked four, and JNV, Neriamangalam, Ernakulam, ranked seven.
Dare School, Munnar, has been ranked 10th in the ‘Best Special Needs School’ category. In the best International Day School category, Sadbhavana World School, Kozhikode, clinched the eighth position. St. Thomas Residential School, Thiruvananthapuram, is ranked 11th in the ‘Best Co-ed Boarding School’ category. Pallikoodam School, Kottayam, has been placed ninth in the ‘Best Co-ed Day-cum Boarding’ category. The Choice School, Kochi, follows in 11th position.
Extensive survey
‘Education World’ has been publishing the India school rankings with C fore, a Delh-based market research and opinion polls agency, for many years.
As many as 12,367 parents, teachers, Principals, educationists, and senior students in 27 cities were interviewed over four months to rate 1,000 schools in 13 categories.
The parameters of assessment include academic reputation, faculty competence, leadership and management quality, sports education, teacher welfare and development, life skills education, conflict management, special needs education, co-curricular education, internationalism, conflict management, and so on.
The awards for the schools will be presented at the Education World India School Rankings Awards Nite 2017 in New Delhi on September 22.
