The mortal remains of musician K.P. Udayabhanu, who died at his residence here on Sunday night, were consigned to flames with full official honours at the Thycaud crematorium on Monday.
His son, Rajeev Udayabhanu, performed the last rites.
The body was kept at VJT Hall for the public to pay their last respects to one of the most revered playback singers of the State.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, his Cabinet colleagues, Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan, Communist Party of India (Marxist) State unit secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, Communist Party of India State unit secretary Pannian Ravindran, and a host of literary and film personalities paid their last respects to the singer.
