By adorning four coaches of the Mumbai Metro with the beautiful landscapes of the State, Kerala Tourism has once again come up with innovative marketing strategies to promote its products.

Commuters on the Mumbai Metro can experience the flavour of God’s Own Country with a ‘Kerala Green Express’ running on the network under a branding agreement with Kerala Tourism.

The branded Kerala Green Express began running on the Mumbai Metro’s Versova-Ghatkopar corridor recently and will continue till February next. The branding in green colour includes wall panels and wall strips carrying messages such as ‘One of the 10 Paradises of the World,’ a reference to the accolade bestowed by the National Geographic Traveller .

The Kerala Green Express will move along a 11.07-km line, passing through 12 elevated stations on the Versova-Ghatkopar line.

The journey between Versova and Ghatkopar takes 21 minutes to complete.

Kerala has become the first tourism destination to be associated with the newly launched Mumbai Metro that ferries more than six lakh passengers a day. “We are proud to be associated with Mumbai’s brand-new metro network,” said Kerala Minister for Tourism A.P. Anil Kumar. “We are also privileged to be the first destination to promote tourism through the new metro in the commercial capital,” he added.

Kerala Tourism had earlier promoted its destinations on several iconic establishments such London taxis. “Our association with the Mumbai Metro will bring us close to the residents and visitors of the cosmopolitan city,” said Suman Billa, Secretary, Tourism.
