Chief Minister Oomen Chandy on Thursday said the government will enact new laws, if necessary, to empower the police to better protect the life and property of citizens.
Inaugurating the first phase of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System here, Mr. Chandy lauded the police for scientific and transparent investigation of several recent cases.
Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said the police would harness new-age technologies to effectively zero in on criminals without having to resort to crude practices of investigation, which could cause suffering to innocent persons.
State Police Chief K.S. Balasubramanian and other senior officers were present.
