‘Kanyaka Talkies’ for Mumbai fete

Malayalam film ‘Kanyaka Talkies’ directed by K.R. Manoj has been selected for the competition section at the 15th edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival to be held in October.

A jury headed by film-maker Shyam Benegal has selected the film.

The film has also been selected to the Mumbai film mart, where select films from the country are introduced to global film distributing companies.

Murali Gopy, Lena, Maniyanpillai Raju and around 15 actors from the theatre circuit star in the film.

The festival will be held from October 17 to 24. Iranian director Asghar Farhadi is the jury chairman.
