Kannada film fete

The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy (KCA) in association with the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy is hosting a three-day Kannada film festival here from August 26 to 28. Filmmaker and Kerala State Film Development Corporation Chairman Lenin Rajendran will inaugurate the festival at a function to be held at the Devipriya theatre at 6 p.m. on August 26.

Chalachitra academy vice chairperson Bina Paul will preside over the function. S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu, chairman of KCA, will be the chief guest. Thithi , the critically acclaimed film directed by Ram Reddy, will be the opening film.

The screening will begin at 11 a.m. on August 26, with ‘Rangitaranga’ directed by Anup Bhandari. Naanu Avanalla Avalu by B.S. Lingadevaru will also be screened on the first day. On August 27, Vidaaya directed by P. Sheshadri, Ondu Motteya Kathe directed by Raj B. Shetty and Maarikondavaru directed by K. Shivarudraiah will be screened. On the closing day, U-turn directed by Pawan Kumar, Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu directed by Hemanth Rao, and Rama Rama Re directed by D. Sathyaprakash will be screened.
