Actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who was undergoing neuro-rehabilitation treatment at the Christian Medical College (CMC) at Vellore following a road accident at Malappuram almost a year ago, will reach Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. He was discharged from CMC on Thursday morning.
His son Rajkumar told The Hindu over phone from Tamil Nadu that the actor and family were travelling by road in a caravan van. “The doctors have advised us not to travel in haste so we cannot commit on the time we will reach Thiruvananthapuram. We are likely to reach there by Friday morning.”
A CMC spokesman told The Hindu that “the actor was wheeled out of the hospital. He smiled at the hospital staff and onlookers. He seemed to be in a cheerful mood.” However, the spokesman said Jagathy had to continue the rehabilitation programme.
The actor was seriously injured in a road accident on March 9 last year at Panambra near Calicut University at Tenhipalam in Malappuram. After initial treatment at the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences at Malappuram, the actor was airlifted to CMC on April 12.
