Inquiry ordered into complaint by AIR official

A magistrate court here has ordered a further investigation into the complaint that an officer in the All India Radio (AIR) had sent fake e-mails to superior officers with the intention of maligning a junior colleague of his.

Chief Judicial Magistrate P.V. Anish Kumar said the complaint of P. M. Unnikrishnan, Programme Executive, (AIR), was prima facie sustainable.

Fake e-mail addresses

Mr. Unnikrishnan had alleged in his complaint that the suspect, an official senior to him, had impersonated him and sent malicious communications to his superiors. The accused had created and used fake e-mail addresses for the purposes.

The magistrate asked the police to investigate the suspect on the suspicion of forgery, use of forged documents, and defamation.
