The Cabinet on Friday decided to conduct a feasibility study for establishment of an industrial corridor by the side of the Kochi-Coimbatore National Highway.

Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan told journalists here on Friday that the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation would undertake the study.

The Chief Minister announced that the Kerala State Industrial Enterprises Board would be entrusted with construction of a container pipe station at Kalamassery near Kochi.

Land would be acquired on a fast track basis for the proposed industrial park at Mattannur. The project is to be implemented by the Kerala State Infrastructure Development Corporation, Mr. Achuthanandan said.

He said that an all-party meeting would be convened on April 20 to discuss issues connected with the acquisition of land for National Highway development.
