Speaker N. Sakthan has called for steps on part of the State government to increase the strength of ministerial staff in the Police.

He was inaugurating the 47th State conference of the Kerala Police Ministerial Staff Association (KPMSA) here on Saturday.

The Speaker said though the administrative duties that the ministerial staff had to perform had increased over the years, there was no proportionate increase in the number of staff.

The association accorded a farewell to State Police Chief K.S. Balasubramanian who is retiring from service this month. The Speaker presented him a memento. Home Secretary Nalini Netto released the association’s magazine Police Ministerial at the function. B. Sandhya and Loknath Behera, Additional Directors General of Police; were present.
