The government’s housing assistance for the homeless will be increased to ₹4 lakh, Minister for Local Self-Government K.T. Jaleel has said. The assistance given for housing earlier was ₹3 lakh. Dr. Jaleel was inaugurating the distribution of the first allotment of housing assistance for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) beneficiaries in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation area here on Wednesday.

The first allotment of ₹30,000 was transferred online to the bank accounts of those 1,300 beneficiaries who had signed an agreement with the Corporation.
