: Poet O.N.V. Kurup has been selected for the prestigious Pushkin Medal given by the Russian Government.
In a press note here on Friday, Ratheesh C. Nair, Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation here, said Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the order awarding the medal to the Malayalam poet on October 30. Although the medal was supposed to be presented to him on November 4, the Russia Unity Day, he could not travel to Moscow owing to poor health. The medal would be presented to him at a function to be held here.
