The police will team up with the Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) to set up help desks at all police stations.

The help desks would enable the public to file complaints at any police station, irrespective of its jurisdiction. The software had been developed by KSITM, said a release issued by the State Police Headquarters on Sunday.

The complaints could be forwarded online for which receipts would be issued. The status of the complaint could be tracked online or at touch-screen kiosks to be set up at various locations soon.

The letters from police stations to higher officers could also be forwarded through the system.

Training for police personnel from Kasaragod to Malappuram districts to handle the system had been completed. The training for personnel in other districts would be completed by August 17. The help desks will start functioning after the training this.
