: The stop memo to the construction of a bridge across the Thettiyar rivulet near the Infosys campus will not affect the ongoing National Highway works, Collector Biju Prabhakar has said.

Mr. Prabhakar in a statement said the National Highways Authority of India and the Irrigation Department would conduct a joint inspection of the bridge. The work was stopped as the existing design of the bridge would cause flooding in the area. The bridge has been constructed in such a way that it affects the flow of the rivulet.

The stoppage of bridge work would in no way affect the NH expansion work, the press release issued here on Friday said.
