Thiruvananthapuram district had a pass percentage of 80.44, very close to the State’s overall pass percentage of 80.94, in the higher secondary (Plus Two) examinations the results of which were announced here on Tuesday.
Of the 32,794 candidates who appeared for the examinations from 174 schools, 26,378 became eligible for higher studies. As many as 867 students secured A+ grade in all subjects in the district. Of the six schools in the district which secured 100 per cent results, all are from the city.
These are Government VHSS for the Deaf, Jagathy; Christ Nagar EM HSS, Kowdiar; Loyola HSS, Sreekaryam; Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Nalanchira; Carmel Girls HSS, Vazhuthacaud, and Chinmaya HSS, Vazhuthacaud.
Among the schools, St. Mary’s HSS, Pattom, presented the highest number of students, 826.
The school had a pass percentage of 93.22.
At Government VHSS for the Deaf, Jagathy, 20 students took the examinations, and all of them cleared it. As many as five students secured A grade, a significant improvement from the previous years, school authorities said.
At Carmel HSS, Vazhuthacaud, which had 100 per cent pass, 309 students sat for exams. Of these, 71 secured A+ grade in all subjects. Two students secured full marks in all subjects – Keerthana K. and Rose Paul.
In the Commerce stream, three students secured A+ in all subjects, and in Humanities, 11.
At Christ Nagar HSS, Kowdiar, of the 175 students who appeared for the exam, 11 got A+ in all subjects in the Science stream and three in Commerce.
At Loyola HSS, Sreekaryam, of the 43 students who appeared for the exam, all passed. As many as 30 students secured above 80 per cent.
At Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vazhuthacaud, of the 87 students who sat for exams, eight got A+.
In the Technical stream, of the 132 students who appeared for the exam, 77 became eligible for higher studies. The pass percentage was 58.33.
Of the 4,757 candidates who took the examinations from the State Council for Open and Life Long Education (SCOLE), 1,958 qualified for higher studies, a pass percentage of 41.16. One candidate secured A+ in all subjects.
